  • Are you looking for opportunity to unplug from the hassle of daily life and reconnect with yourself through deep soul practice of yoga and beautiful nature?

Then this retreat is exactly what you need and I warmly invite you to join me on a heart journey to the mythical land of Iceland. As an Icelandic native, I'll share the magic of my homeland and give you a taste of the stunning power and beauty of the nature. Wintertime in Iceland sounds rough, and it can be, but the combination of yoga, hot water geothermal baths and fresh air is invigorating for your whole being. This is a truly magical experience and provides a fantastic vehicle for transformation so you're able to reconnect with your own heart and become true to yourself again.

We retreat in the embrace of natural beauty, geothermal hot-springs, natural steam baths and solitude. 4 days with yoga, meditation, healthy food, community and lots of time to explore!
We stay at Héraðskólinn, a beautifully preserved hostel, completely renovated in 2013.
Everyday you'll meditate, do lots of yoga, be served three healthy meals including vegetarian/vegan  choices and have access to the fantastic Fontana Spa & Wellness Centre for the whole stay, located just down the road from Héraðskólinn, and you can go as many times as you like during our stay.

Laugarvatn is located 1 hour outside of Reykjavik and offers us the perfect location to enjoy all the best of Iceland. This is a unique opportunity to re-connect with yourself, energise and restore body, mind and heart -truly to tend your heart fire.
During the retreat we've planned two sightseeing tours to give you an opportunity to enjoy a few of the spectacular nature gems of Iceland. Our choice of nature gems might include a trip to the Golden Circle (Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir National Park) and bathing in Gamla Laugin  the oldest geothermal swimming pool in Iceland from 1891.

I was at a place in my life where I needed a break from my everyday life to find some inner peace and strength. I thus had very high expectations but the retreat exceed all of them! The stunning nature just takes your breath away and is very calming, the yoga practice was fantastic and took my mind and body deep in to places I have never been. And last but not least the group of people were so inspiring to be in a symbiosis with for four days.

When we arrive on Friday, you'll get keys to your room where you can place your bags and change into your yoga outfit. The first yoga session is around 5pm and this session is imbued with focus on intention (sankalpa) and becoming clear on what you truly hold in your heart and what you need to attend to. Just like our relationships with friends and family require time and attention, love and kindness, the relationship with your own heart is crucial to kindle and nourish.

Morning meditation
Each day will begin with breath work and meditation followed by a long exploratory yoga practice, woven with meaningful themes that help you connect to the power in you. The morning session will be fiery, dynamic and flowing practice that aim to build courage and strength in order to empower you. The afternoon practices will be more soma/nectar and vary between gentle and restorative work, focusing on being present with what is, release and letting go. Hrönn is experienced in teaching both mixed level groups, workshops and retreats and the practice is suitable for everyone and anyone bringing an open and curious mind.

Feedback from students

After Hrönn’s fantastic yoga retreat in Iceland, I feel fully balanced and at the same time super energised. I simply love the way Hrönn uses her high level yoga & meditation teaching to provide power full yoga sessions that help os grow and develop on both the physical and the mental level.
Accommodation, food and beautiful nature takes the trip even higher.

After returning from Iceland, I have been asked how the retreat was, and my answer has been the same: 'words can not describe'!
I will try though anyways. It has in many ways been a trip into my heart. The fresh icelandic air, the hot springs, the meditation and yoga practice, the cute hostel, the wonderful crew, Hrönn, the food, the nature and the northern lights, were all elements that created a perfect setting for awareness, bliss and gratitude. I feel truely greatful for this experience.

Iceland is truly a magical place with its raw and beautiful nature, and Hrönn is one of the best yoga teachers I have ever met! This retreat was everything that I hoped it would be and more. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs a break or a little adventure. I would definitely go again..!

Going on yoga retreat to Island with Hrönn is the best I have done for myself in a very long time. Laugarvatn is a very beautiful and peaceful place, perfect for the retreat. We lived at Heradskolinn just next to Fontana Spa and which we really enjoyed to visit every day between the yoga sessions. Hrönn is very loving and inspiring - I love the yoga and meditation with her, and can highly recommend to go with her to Island.

As my first yoga retreat, it has been an extraordinary experience. I would describe it as a “discovery”: reconnecting with myself and the others through deep yoga practice and meditation, discovering the astonishing winter wonders of Iceland, and at the same time making new friendships with the lovely people of the retreat.
Hrönn guided us in every step of the experience with great care, dedication, sweetness and enthusiasm, enabling us to fully enjoy it in every aspect. The yoga practice, the community experience as well as the amazing geothermal SPA nearby truly nourished both the body and the mind.
I am now back to the ordinary life with lots of unforgettable memories which I hold tight in my mind and heart
