YogaPlace - the studio

YogaPlace is an intimate and personal yoga studio in Brønshøj. 
We offer high quality teaching in an environment where you can feel safe and supported to go deep into your own experience. Yoga is a state of resting in the Heart and embracing all parts of you. This is what we invite you to explore with us through movement, breath, meditation and all the other practices of yoga. We invite a maximum of 8 students pr. class so everyone to be fully seen and encouraged from an individual stance. The space we create together is sacred and invites you to  meet yourself with total honesty, kindness and curiosity. ​This is your space to connect and restore. 

Our two main teachers are Hrönn and Óskar - mother and son.
Hrönn (51) has many trainings and educations (that you can read about here) but she mostly refers to her self as a Rasa Yoga Teacher Trainer and Meditation Teacher, registered with Yoga Alliance as E-RYT 500. Óskar Freyr with his 26 years of age, already is a Rasa Yoga 200hr graduate and furthermore he has 2 other teacher trainings under his belt and is RYT-200 certified. Both have a deep wish to be of service and meet each student with kindness and respect.

We primarily offer class series that run for 12 weeks. This structure helps you to commit to joining at least one class a week and you'll practice with the same group. We have a few drop-in classes on the schedule but we highly recommend that you join a class series, and then add a drop-in class 1-2 pr week.

We also offer Rasa yoga 200hr teacher trainings, immersions, courses and retreats. Check out our schedule and book your spot online. Our classes are taught either in Danish or English depending on needs. 

We have all the accessories that you need for your practice, but you're of course welcome to bring your own. 
Our yoga mats are high quality from Manduka, cotton blankets from Yoga Matters plus straps, blocks, bolsters & eye pillows filled with the calming flowers of Lavender. 
We love to diffuse therapeutic grade essential oils from Young Living in our classes to support a relaxing or uplifting atmosphere. Please let us know if you are sensitive to aromatherapy.

In our changing room, you can hop into your comfy yoga outfit and get a cup of tea or lemon water before or after practice.
We do not offer bathing facilities.

What can I expect as a first-time student?

Our teachers warmly welcomes beginners to by creating a safe, non-intimidating environment. She offers suggested modifications to meet you wherever you are while integrating subtle challenges to help you progress. Each class incorporates breathwork, mindfulness techniques, and final relaxation, so you'll leave feeling calm and restored.
 
What is your safety protocol regarding widespread diseases?

We follow all government-mandated health and safety guidelines, including mask-wearing when required, social distancing, regular cleaning/sanitizing of equipment, and contactless payment systems. We also monitor local case numbers and are prepared to switch to outdoor or online classes if conditions require it to best protect our students' well-being.
 
What should I bring to my first yoga class?

Wear comfortable clothing free of clasps, ties, or anything restrictive. Feel welcome to bring a yoga mat if you have one or enjoy our Manduka quality mats at the studio. We provide all necessary props like blankets, blocks and straps. An open, patient attitude while learning something new goes a long way, too! Enjoy a cup of tea, lemon water or a little snak of dried fruit and nuts before or after class.

Do you offer personalized yoga therapy sessions?

Our teacher offers private yoga therapy sessions to individuals or small groups looking for specialized attention. These sessions can target specific health conditions, injuries, lifestyle demands, or general well-being. Please reach out for pricing details.
 
I haven't exercised for years – can I still do yoga?

Absolutely! Previous flexibility, strength training, or exercise experience is optional. We modify poses to accommodate you safely while meeting where you are now. Yoga helps improve overall fitness and mobility with a low risk of injury for beginners. Building the mind-body connection through breath also reduces everyday aches and pains.
