Namaste dear one, I'm really grateful that you're reading this post. We are living in some crazy times and I know that you've had a lot on your mind in those recent days. Last nights announcement from the Danish prime minister and the Queen helped to highlight the extreme seriousness of the covid-19 situation, that very quickly has changed the way we live and conduct our lives. And it will continue to challenge and restrict us even more in the coming weeks (or who knows for how long). The way we react to this situation is crucial and we all try to handle the fear and uncertainty in the best way we can. Some have many resources and others very few! I think that for all of us the situation feels strange, unknown and uncertain....even scary! And our very human reaction is to worry and begin to create stories about the situation becoming even worse than it actually is - this is the nature of our mind. One of my standard reactions to worry is action - to figure out what can I do, with the resources that I have available right now. The action, of course, pulls me away from being with the anxiety and fear that otherwise easily could overwhelm me. And I know that - therefore I also deliberately sit with those challenging feelings of vulnerability, fear and uncertainty in my meditation every day. I take the Abhaya Hrdaya mudra (picture above) the Fearless Heart gesture, feel my breath and open myself to be with what wants to show up. This is how my system digests theses challenging experiences and often I feel lighter and more spacious afterwards. But also I've acted - here's what I'm doing so far: 1) I have my first shift tomorrow on the National Police Telephone Hotline - as a Red Cross volunteer 2) I've signed-up at the Captial Region hospitals as a healthcare professional (nurse) - ready to be of service if needed (my experience is primarily from intensive care units, but also many other specialities) 3) Last Sunday (the picture below) we offered our first live-streamed yoga class here from YogaPlace and our schedule offers two classes every day until March 28 (probably longer and maybe this will become something we'll offer permanently in some scale). Nr. 3 has actually been in the planning since 2018, but I never felt the urgency to really make it happen. So here it is - and my intention is to continue to support each and every one of you in your practice the best way I can. Your participation will support my little business as we move through the challenge. Thank you for reading all the way. If you want to join us for practice, completley safe at your own home here's a link to our schedule and a link to purchase a live stream pass. Lastly, I want to share with you beautiful words from my dear rasika sister, Anjali Haryana - they moved me deeply: - As the borders are closing, move into your breath that lives without boundaries - As separation is required, bond deeper in spirit with all beings - As fear is growing, relentlessly practice love - Where the hand cannot reach, sing your prayers - In all that is falling apart, find the thread that makes the mala -- Pause and remember our shared humanity. Let's stay connected - this is the power of the human spirit independent of time and space. With great respect and Love. Hrönn
